Blind & Low Vision Sports Discovery Day - Goalball Volunteers Needed

We are excited to be participating in the Blind & Low Vision Sports Discovery Day on Saturday 14 November 2026 at Federation University, Mount Helen, Ballarat.

This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce Goalball to a new region, create new community connections, and encourage future participants to get involved in our sport. We're particularly excited that Goalball will have its own dedicated court space throughout the event, giving us a unique opportunity to showcase the sport, share our experiences, and provide hands-on opportunities for participants to learn and play.

To make the day a success, we're looking for volunteers to help create a welcoming and engaging experience for participants. Whether you're an athlete, coach, referee, parent, volunteer, or supporter, your involvement can make a real difference in helping someone discover Goalball for the first time.

Volunteer Schedule

  • 9:00 am – Court set up
  • 10:00 am – Event begins
  • 1:00 pm – Event concludes
  • 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm – Court pack down

How You Can Help

Volunteers will assist with:

  • Welcoming and supporting participants.
  • Demonstrating Goalball skills and game play.
  • Sharing their experiences and knowledge of the sport.
  • Encouraging participants to connect with future Goalball opportunities.
  • Assisting with court set up and pack down.

Transport Assistance

As the event is being held in Ballarat, any assistance with transporting volunteers or equipment would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to help with transport, please let us know when registering.

This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the blind and low vision community, promote Goalball in a new region, and help more people discover the sport we are passionate about. We hope you can join us and help make the day a success.
