New Zealand Goalball Nationals 2026 (Auckland)
The New Zealand Goalball Nationals are back for 2026 — and bigger than ever!
We’re excited to share that Team VIC has been offered one spot at this year’s competition, to be held in Auckland.
📅 Event Dates: 10–12 July 2026
✈️ Travel Dates: Fly out 9 July | Return 13 July 2026
📍 Location: Auckland, New Zealand (venue TBC)
Register Your Interest
Due to limited availability, we are now opening an Expression of Interest (EOI) for athletes and volunteers wishing to represent Victoria.
⚠️ Please note: Submitting an EOI does not guarantee selection.
When completing the EOI, you’ll be asked to indicate which division you feel most comfortable competing in. If there is a higher number of EOIs for a particular division, this will help determine which division Team VIC enters.
Open Division: Suitable for players currently competing in VGA League B Division and no international experience. This division is focused on development, skill-building, and gaining competition experience.
Elite Division : Suitable for players competing in VGA League A Division, or experienced B Division players looking to progress to a higher level. Players typically have a strong competitive experience and are seeking a more high-performance environment.
Selection Process

All interested players will be considered

Team selection will be based on interest, skill level, and team balance

The division entered will be determined once EOIs are received

If more than 6 players register, trials will be held on 23 May 2026

Players must be available to attend trials if required to be considered for selection
If not selected, there may be opportunities to connect with New Zealand teams, subject to availability and agreement.
Costs

This is a self-funded opportunity for both athletes and volunteers

Participants should be prepared to spend up to $2,000 towards travel and competition costs

Referees
If you are interested in attending as a referee, please note that Goalball New Zealand manages their own appointments of referees.

Requirements
To be eligible, participants must:

Hold a current passport

Be a registered, paid and approved VGA member
